Appendix:English verbs with Latin prefixes
Appearance
This table contains English verbs composed etymologically of a single Latin prefix and root verb. The header row and index column contain Latin translations (in green) that provide a surface analysis of each verb (e.g. "proceed" = forward + go ). The final column is a catch-all for infrequent prefixes: ambi- (around), ante- (before), circum- (around), contra- (against), extra- (outside), intra- (inside), ne- (not), post- (after), retro- (backwards), se- (apart).
