I'm hoping to have "this too shall pass" translated into English, as well as the Farsi alphabet. I'm hoping to have it tattooed on me, so I want to know how to pronounce it, as well as be certain it's the correct translation. Ritus

Origin Ritu is a season in the Hindu calendar and there are six ritus or Indian seasons. The word is derived from the Vedic Sanskrit word Ruru a fixed or appointed time especially the proper time for sacrifice(yajna) or rituall in vedic religion. This in turn comes from the word Ritu as used in vedic Sanskrit literally means the “order or course of things” In Sanskrit Vasanta means spring and Panchami is the fifth day of the fortnight of waxing moon(Shukla Paksha) in the Hindu month of Magh, January- February of English calendar.

In Ferozepur(Punjab, India) Vasant is celebrated as most auspicious festival than any other. People from all over India gathered here to feel the purity of this spring season. Vasant Panchami has its own joy and pleasure. Every year Kite festival is celcebrated in many states of India. But the border city(Ferozepur) marks the occasion on huge level of its seasonal significance.

Basant Ritu: This season is commonly known as spring season in common language. In this season, breeze flows from south to north direction. Sun is not having intense heat. Hence sun appears in reddish colour. New leaves originate from trees. Old bark of trees gets replaced by new one. Environment is clear and non dusty. Flowers blossom on trees and there is fragrance in environment. In this ritu, shlesham (mucous) which had got accumulated in winter season melts off due to initiation of increase in temperature. According to modern day calendar it falls in the season of March and April.

Grishma Ritu: This season in commonly known as summer season. In Indian calendar it is Jyestha- ashadha. Sun is hot and penetrating, sun heat is maximum, environment is hot and sky remains clear.Win is in direct North West direction. Air is dry, light, hot, unpleasant day. Moonlight is pleasant. Atmosphere is bright and hot. Land becomes hot and dry especially during day time. Water becomes hot and light very little water in rivers. Ritu is a Division of the year reflecting the change of seasons. The concept of ritu occurs in Rigveda also, where only three ritus are, mentioned. Hemant ritu comes after winterI.e in January till mid march. With the extreme cold, hail and snow of winter left behind hemant ritu represents the spring of India. A variety of new blooming flowers in the clear morning sun welcome us to a symphony of colours.

Varsha, Shishira corresponds to winter season in India i.e around December and January. This is the time when colour of leaves change. This change is captured here in the leaf which is at one time green, then red followed by light brown and finally brown. Toward the end of the shishir season flowers begin to bloom.

Poems and songs do not translate very well between languages. What sounds great in English will sound terrible when translated into another language. It won’t rhyme, the meter will be completely off, the number of syllables and words will be different. Even so, nobody would attempt to translate a poem like that for free.
