[edit]Inherited from Proto-Turkic *ōr (“piebald, brown”). Cognate with Karakhanid اُور (or, “chestnut, bay (said of the color of a horsecoat”), Yakut ор (or, “blackish brown”), Kazakh ор (or, “brown”) and Bashkir ур-ғуян (ur-ğuyan, “Russet hare”).
