There will be time to murder and create,
And time for all the works and days of hands
That lift and drop a question on your plate;
Time for you and time for me.
And time yet for a hundred indecisions,
And for a hundred visions and revisions,
Before the taking of a toast and tea.

ἀτελείωτα
[edit]This is my word repository, functioning as a list of terms I would like to research, contribute, or improve. Most of the items stashed here were discovered during my usual Perseus dictionary crawl, while a small portion come of my wikibingeing. It is my goal to clear out terms within a month of their addition. Technically, my workshop is ἀτελείωτον, but I expect those terms to be constantly under watch.

Greek Policy, Notes
[edit]- Lemma forms: first principal part, nominative (masculine) singular
- non-lemma forms ought to be created categorized as "x forms" (x being noun, verb, &c.)
- polytonic Greek
- specification of dialect &c. (i.e. Doric, Ionic, Attic)
- orthographic conventions: iota subscript as opposed to adscript
- incorporation of Koine, Strong's concordance
- LSJ for reference (perhaps Middle Liddell whenever possible due to unambiguity of copyright expiration)
- incorporation of DUAL? (I can do the dual more or less for adjectives, nouns, &c. - verbs, not so much)
Sicilian
[edit]Pseudo-Sicilian to do: fix malu, remove scn inflection; start purging template from use... learn some Sardu to fix up that (among other) entries?

- adjective forms using inflection of, noun plurals using plural of
- inclusion of many different spellings, with notes on dialectical shifts &c.

Hawaiian
[edit]Policy Notes
[edit]- alphabetize with okina, vowel length disregarded as far as categories go
- use of tags such as (transitive)
- separate POS information as to be in line with English (e.g. POS isn't "Noun stative verb" or some other equally messy header, but rather a noun section separate from the verb section - which contains the tag (stative))
- proto-Polynesian/common Oceanic for etym except with compounds
- note dialect shifts (for instance, "hana" in the West, "hono" in the East; the Niʻihau "t" and other "Tahitianisms")
About Hawaiian (in progress - feel free to chime in)
[edit]Orthography
[edit]Though numerous texts can be found without diacritics, Hawaiian entries on Wiktionary should use the kahakō (macron) where appropriate; entries may therefore be created with kahakō in the title. A circumflex or diaresis should not be used to mark long vowels. Likewise, the glottal stop is to be represented with the ʻokina (ʻ), a character referred to by Unicode as "modifier letter turned comma," and neither a grave accent (`) nor a plain apostrophe (').
Hawaiian is generally regarded to contain thirteen letters. The character w is sometimes pronounced as v; the pronunciation section should reflect this, though not the orthography. Use of t as a substitute for k as attested is, however, acceptable. This shift is more common in the Western islands, especially Niʻihau.
Alphabetization
[edit]Alphabetization ought to disregard the ʻokina as a consonant for the first character of the word only and likewise not take notice of the kahakō in any part of the word. Thus, an additional argument ought to be used when categorizing any given page, e.g. [[category:Hawaiian nouns|ae]] for ʻae and [[category:Hawaiian verbs|maʻila]] for māʻila.
