Wiktionary:Todo/Lists/Derivation category does not match entry language
Description
[edit]This list contains entries categorised in a "LANG words derived from ..." category without being categorised as either "LANG lemmas" or "LANG non-lemma forms".
Entries in Category:Japanese Han characters are also excluded, as these are not considered lemmas or non-lemma forms yet sometimes use etymology templates in their "Glyph origin" section.
The original idea and Python script for this todo list was developed by an IP contributor. See Special:PermanentLink/67311193 and Special:PageHistory/Wiktionary:Todo/Derivation category does not match entry language.
Cleanup instructions
[edit]A page can appear on this list when an entry uses the wrong language code in an etymology template. For example, an English entry indicates its etymology using {{der|fr|la|...}}
. In these cases, the etymology template needs fixing.
It can also happen when the page lacks the correct lemma or non-lemma category. This will sometimes occur due to a missing headword template, as at this old version of the cuauhtli entry.
Occasionally, the L2 language header, etymology template and {{head}}
template may disagree on the language of the entry. If you do not speak the language(s) involved, it is best to ask the entry's creator to resolve the issue.
