Borrowed from Arabic تَلّ اَلرَّبِيع (tall ar-rabīʕ), from a calque of Hebrew תֵּל אָבִיב (tel 'avív).

  1. A supposed settlement in Palestine, which some Palestinians allege was forcefully renamed and converted into the modern-day city of Tel Aviv by Israeli settlers.
