oh hello. I am Juwan (/ˈjuwan/) or jan Juwan in toki pona. my pronouns are he/she/they.
I am a tokiponist and have worked with the language on other projects. I am a volunteer on the wiki sona pona, on the toki pona zine lipu tenpo as a proofreader and on the dictionary project lipu Linku as a translator. I wish to someday see toki pona entries on mainspace.
Languages spoken
[edit]my native language is Portuguese with a Paulistano dialect from the city of São Paulo, with some influences from Northeastern and other São Paulo dialects. currently I live in Portugal, and some Brazilian friends have said that I have developed an accent, but I don't buy that.
I have been learning English since I was a child and, as a linguistics nerd, have gone through many accents to see what I liked best. nowadays, I have a Standard Southern British accent mixed with Brazilian influences in phonology and a combination of British and American lexicon (leaning British).
Interests
[edit]my interests regarding Wiktionary editing are related to documenting subcultures, especially those found on the Internet, which may lack good covering, even though they are the most common to be found nowadays. I am part of Wikimedia LGBT+ and edit LGBTQ terms in order to improve coverage of these terms used by our community and to alert about hateful terms used to harass us.
I enjoy copyediting entries in order to make them pretty, accessible and bringing them up to date with current standards and urge other Wiktionarians to do the same.
besides the languages I am proficient in, I feel comfortable with doing minor edits with other Romance languages (as a speaker of one) and German (as I have studied it for over a year, although have stopped some time ago).
