The suffix -trīx f is the feminine counterpart of the masculine agent noun suffix -tor m, used with the supine stems of verbs to form nouns denoting the agent of an action. Other related derivational suffixes include the adjective ending -tōrius, -a, -um and the instrument-noun endings -trum, -bra, -brum, -bula, -bulum, -crum, -culum, -tōrium.
