Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Sino-Tibetan *m-(l/n)ej ~ *m-li (“penis”) with a body-part suffix *-n; compare Tibetan མཇེ (mje, “penis”), S'gaw Karen လံၢ် (lee̱, “vagina”) and Burmese လီး (li:, “penis”) (Benedict, 1976).
