Etymology
[edit]Borrowed from Japanese あっさり (assari) into Taiwanese Hokkien, and from Taiwanese Hokkien into Taiwanese Mandarin. Taiwanese Hakka may have borrowed directly from Japanese or via Taiwanese Hokkien.
