Etymology
[edit]Phono-semantic matching of a corrupted form of Sanskrit वैडूर्य (vaiḍūrya, “cat's-eye; jewel; lapis lazuli”), Pali veḷuriya (“lapis lazuli”). Related to 吠瑠璃 (fèiliúlí), 琉璃 (liúlí).
