[edit]Etymology
[edit]From Koine Greek συναίρεσις (sunaíresis), from Ancient Greek συναιρέω (sunairéō), συναιρῶ (sunairô, “to draw together, contract”), from συν- (sun-, “with, together”) + ἀϝείρω, ἀείρω, αἴρω (aweírō, aeírō, aírō, “to take up, draw; bind, attach”), from Proto-Hellenic *aweřřō, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂wer-, equivalent to συναιρώ (synairó) from συν- (syn-) + αίρω (aíro).
