Inherited from Old Anatolian Turkish آرَالُقْ (araluq, gap, space, interval); cognate with Azerbaijani aralıq and Gagauz aralık. Equivalent to آرا (ara, gap, space, interval) +‎ ـلق (-lık, -luk, -ness, -hood).
