Usage & translation notes

This translation, by Vietnamese Communists, of "evolution" as diễn biến (which does not mean "to evolve" in modern Vietnamese) is very likely influenced by Chinese 演變 (which indeed means "to evolve" besides "to develop"). Meanwhile, anti-Communist Vietnamese translate it as tiến hoá, resulting in the rarely attested expressions "tiến hoá hoà bình" ~ "tiến hóa hòa bình".
