Etymology 2

From Ottoman Turkish ـِڭ (-ïŋ), from Common Turkic *-nïŋ. Final had been coronalised to -n and initial -n- had been dropped apparently to avoid cluster.

Compare with Azerbaijani -un, Kazakh -ның (-nyñ) / -дың (-dyñ) / -тың (-tyñ), Tuvan -нуң (-nuñ) / -дуң (-duñ) / -туң (-tuñ), etc.
