[edit]From a compound of Proto-Turkic *-m (“ordinal suffix”) + Proto-Turkic *-inč (“ordinal suffix”),[1] compare Bulgar -مْ (-m, “ordinal suffix”) and -شِ (-şi, “ordinal suffix”).[2]
Cognate with Khalaj -minci, Turkmen -minji (“ordinal suffix”).
