Usage notes
[edit]Officially written as 臺灣台語. This term is mainly used by certain Taiwanese government publications instead of 閩南語/闽南语 (mǐnnányǔ) and gained attention in July 2024 after the Ministry of Education stated it would use the term on its Taiwanese fluency test, sparking debate.
