Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘕𑘳𑘚𑘜𑘹 (juḍaṇe),[1][2] from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀚𑀼𑀟𑀺𑀅 (juḍia, past participle); see there for more. Related to जोडणे (joḍṇe), जोडा (joḍā), जोडी (joḍī). Cognate with Hindustani جُڑْنَا (juṛnā) / जुड़ना (juṛnā), Sindhi جُڙڻُ / जुड़णु, Punjabi ਜੁੜਨਾ (juṛnā) / جُڑنا (juṛnā).
