Etymology

Inherited from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀚𑀼𑀅𑀮 (juala), 𑀚𑀼𑀯𑀮 (juvala), from Sanskrit युगल (yugala).[1] Compare Sindhi جورو / जोरो (a suit of woman’s apparel), Hindustani جولی (jolī) / जोली (jolī).
