Clipping of bạc tẩy xỉu phé. From Cantonese 白底小啡 (baak6 dai2 siu2 fe1), (SV: bạch để tiểu phi), literally "白 (“condensed milk”) +‎ 底 (“under”) +‎ 小 (“(with a) little bit of”) +‎ 啡 (“coffee”)".
