Hello, welcome to Wiktionary, and thank you for your contributions so far.

If you are unfamiliar with wiki-editing, take a look at Help:How to edit a page. It is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.

These links may help you familiarize yourself with Wiktionary:

  • Entry layout (EL) is a detailed policy on Wiktionary's page formatting; all entries must conform to it. The easiest way to start off is to copy the contents of an existing same-language entry, and then adapt it to fit the entry you are creating.
  • Check out Language considerations to find out more about how to edit for a particular language.
  • Our Criteria for Inclusion (CFI) defines exactly which words can be added to Wiktionary; the most important part is that Wiktionary only accepts words that have been in somewhat widespread use over the course of at least a year, and citations that demonstrate usage can be asked for when there is doubt.
  • If you already have some experience with editing our sister project Wikipedia, then you may find our guide for Wikipedia users useful.
  • If you have any questions, bring them to Wiktionary:Information desk or ask me on my talk page.
  • Whenever commenting on any discussion page, please sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~) which automatically produces your username and timestamp.
  • You are encouraged to add a BabelBox to your userpage to indicate your self-assessed knowledge of languages.

Enjoy your stay at Wiktionary!

P.S. You may check out my contributions as well. --Lo Ximiendo (talk) 22:53, 14 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

فرغ

[edit]

My bad, I misread the Wehr entry. 92.184.96.107 08:17, 16 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Alright then. You did the same mistake in تَفَرَّغَ (tafarraḡa) but i did fix it. And don't remove some translations unless you are sure that they are not applicable. BTW you could just reply me on your talk page. And please create a user page so people can reach you in ease. If you have problem in Arabic feel free to reach me :). -- Heydari (talk|contibs) 10:37, 16 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Indonesian Swadesh list

[edit]

Hello, have you seen this one? There are still several red links in there. I think we should prioritize them. Ketiga123 (talk) 20:19, 18 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

No I haven't. Thanks for making me aware of it. I actually need that kinda organized list, instead of randomly picking words from some article I read :D --Heydari (talk|contibs) 21:41, 18 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I understand what you mean. Ketiga123 (talk) 15:08, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

On that note, there's also Wiktionary:Requested entries (Indonesian). —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 18:04, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
َ@Metaknowledge, thank you. We'll start working on those. --Heydari (talk|contibs) 18:36, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Classical Indonesian

[edit]

What exactly is it and how it is different from Classical Malay? Ketiga123 (talk) 17:11, 23 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Senses that were used in literature before the standardization of Indonesian and are not currently being used (some exceptions maybe occur) may be categorized as classical. As per KBBI:
sastra Indonesia klasik: sastra klasik yang ditulis dalam semua bahasa daerah yang terdapat di seluruh wilayah Indonesia, termasuk bahasa Melayu.

Dear user:Heydari, i have a lot of contributions I like to add , but I am weak. Can I provide you with my contributions complete, and you add them in correct formula? عدمو (talk) 02:01, 24 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your interest. Sorry but I'm currently busy. But feel free to add your contributions.
For formatting and questions you can check other pages, or read the help pages.
The community here is also supportive.

it is very difficult for me to use formulas of Wiktionary and I have a lot to add. Like for example as a starter:
Reference R:ar:almaany عدمو (talk) 18:49, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
وَصِيَّة a will.
أَوْصَى وَصَى وَصَّى recommend.vebs
وَصِيْ guardian of a will.
مُوصَى recommended.
مُوصِي recommender, gifter in a will
تَوْصِيَة recommendation, reference . Reference R:ar:Almaany عدمو (talk) 18:50, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
i added to وصى please check and fix if needed. عدمو (talk) 19:03, 27 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm currently busy, but here's what might help:
You can start with Arabic root pages and work your way down to the lemmas (and inflections, etc.) derived from the roots (top-down). This way you can contribute is a systematic way. At least that's how I think is a good approach.
Alternatively, you can hunt for wanted Arabic lemmas that are need to be checked for validity, or are missing altogether.
Also, enjoy it, don't stress it out lmao.
