[edit]From Proto-Indo-European *lewǵ- (“to break”), cognate with Sanskrit रुजति (rujáti, “to break open”), Lithuanian lū́žti (“to break”) and Old Armenian լուծանեմ (lucanem, “to break, to loose”).[1]
