[edit]Inherited from Old Gujarati ए (e), from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀏𑀲𑁄 m (eso), 𑀏𑀲𑀸 f (esā), from Sanskrit एषः m (eṣaḥ), एषा f (eṣā), a compound of Proto-Indo-European *éy + *só. Cognate with Bengali এ (e), Hindi यह (yah).
