Etymology

Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀧𑀼𑀘𑁆𑀙𑀤𑀺 (pucchadi), from Sanskrit पृच्छति (pṛccháti). Cognate with Gujarati પૂછવું (pūchvũ), Marathi पुसणे (pusṇe), Kalasha phúčik, Romani pućhel, Persian پرسیدن (porsidan), German forschen.
