Inherited from Old Marathi काढणे (kāḍhaṇe) / 𑘎𑘰𑘛𑘜𑘹 (kāḍhaṇe), from Prakrit 𑀓𑀟𑁆𑀠𑀇 (kaḍḍhaï). Cognate to Gujarati કાઢવું (kāḍhvũ), Nepali काड्नु (kāḍnu), Punjabi ਕੱਢਣਾ (kaḍḍhaṇā), Hindi काढ़ना (kāṛhnā), Bengali কাড়া (kaṛa).
