[edit]Translation of Ancient Greek ἅγιον (hágion, “holy”) πνεῦμα (pneûma, “spirit”). First attested in Arabic in the Quran at 2:253, in the form of روح القدس (rūḥu l-qudusi), that is as a proper genitive construction.
