[edit]Inherited from Old East Slavic каса́ти (kasáti), from Proto-Slavic *kasati, from *kosti, from Proto-Balto-Slavic *kastei, from Proto-Indo-European *kos-yé-ti, from *kos-, from *kes-.[1] Cognate with Old Polish kasać, Old Czech kasati.
