From wa 'its tooth' (third person of xwa 'tooth' < Proto-Northern Jê *ĵwa (tooth) < Proto-Cerrado *jwa (tooth) < Proto-Jê *jô (tooth)) + po 'wide' (< Proto-Northern Jê *po (flat)).
