tuồng
Appearance
Vietnamese
[edit]Etymology
[edit]The more original meaning word was "look; appearance", which then extended to the performance art due to the performers' eye-catching costumes; hát tuồng therefore can be understood as "costume singing" or "vocal performance with costumes".
