Learned Borrowings

[edit]

@ColumbaBush Hi, i thought id reply here. I only undid that action was because the Classical Syriac "standarised" pronouns are used more in formal Neo-Aramaic writing. This also partially includes the enclitic pronouns too but I will explain them as alternative forms under the usage notes section. Antonklroberts (talk) 07:21, 14 December 2024 (UTC)Reply

thanks for clarifying here - oh interesting, i never saw them in writing before

Antonklroberts - I think we should normalize everything to swadaya. Also Appendix:Assyrian_Neo-Aramaic_Swadesh_list is using ܐܚܬܘܢ and ܐܢܝ
Because of this, I restored my change - that said, if you feel strongly against this view, you can revert again and I won't protest it ColumbaBush (talk) 23:50, 16 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi, maybe we should include ܐܚܬܘܢ and ܐܢܝ alongside or replacing the classical forms, since the most commonly used and familiar forms in our language are these. I think many people seeing this could be confused @Antonklroberts @ColumbaBush ܐܢܐ (talk) 03:27, 21 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
replacing classical w/ common forms is best imo ColumbaBush (talk) 05:35, 21 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
