@Poketalker This phrase has an another word from the same story, as 鶏鳴狗盗[1][2]. I think the old Chinese quote should be moved to (Chinese entry of) that article. Direct quoting of the original story of the "故事成語" on the Japanese article breaks the template's function to make the Japanese entries go to Category:Chinese terms with quotations.--荒巻モロゾフ (talk) 04:04, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

@荒巻モロゾフさん, the original Chinese article is at 雞鳴狗盜／鸡鸣狗盗 (jīmínggǒudào), using traditional 雞 rather than kyujitai 鷄 or shinjitai 鶏. Your (partial) translation will be moved there so the Chinese-language derived category from {{zh-x}} in this article will not be a bother. Problem is, 令和 (Reiwa, as in the current era) and other non-Chinese articles with {{zh-x}} are still under that category. どうも、～ POKéTalker（═◉═） 04:34, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

"令和" still can have excuse that it is a Chinese incorporated into Japanese because it's Sino-Japanese word, but "鶏の空音" is obviously 100% composed from existing native Japanese words (even not a calque). so it's pretty bad to be called "Chinese terms". It's smarter to make the description without {{zh-x}}, and use {{see|雞鳴狗盜}} in kind. Because the original text of 《史記》includes too much information for the purpose of explaining this word, to shorten it to summary will makes better the quality.--荒巻モロゾフ (talk) 05:28, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
