[edit]Derivation from Proto-Turkic *siaŕ(ï)- (“to become white, yellow”)[1] + *-g. Khalaj and Turkmen forms point to -/ā/-.
Compared to Proto-Mongolic *sïra (“yellow”) (Mongolian шар (šar, “yellow”)), Proto-Japonic *siro (“white”).[2]
