[edit]From Proto-Balto-Slavic *brauk-ei-, *brauś-ei-, iterative of the verb *brauk-, *brauś- (whence Latvian bràukt, Lithuanian braũkti), from Proto-Indo-European *bʰrowḱ-. Cognate with Latvian braũcît, Lithuanian braukýti.
