[edit]Etymology
[edit]From French Hercule (“Hercules; Heracles”). As with other French words with a mute h, the h is "unmuted", making this also a partial orthographic borrowing from French. The "Forbidden One" sense comes from the fact that this "Forbidden One" has infinite attack strength, and that the manga series as well as the card game Yu-Gi-Oh!, in its Chinese bootleg form, peaked during the same period as the airing of the TV show Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.
