  1. even if; used to indicate that something does not matter, whether it is true or not. Used only in the environments of the (-ra) allomorph of (-da); see the former entry for more.
    살인마라도 따라 처벌되어야 한다.
    Sarinma-rado beob-e ttara cheobeol-doeeoya handa.
    Even a mass murderer should be punished according to the law.
    (literally, “Even if he is a mass murderer, he should be punished according to the law.”)
    라도 죽이면 된다.
    Baem-i-rado jugimyeon an doenda.
    You should not kill even a snake.
    (literally, “Even if [something] is a snake, it should not be killed.”)
