Usage notes
[edit]This word is one of several words that translate ΟΟΞ½ΞΟ (phΕnΓ©Ε, βto soundβ), but it is used chiefly with reference to roosters, for which purpose π πππΎπ°π½ (wΕpjan, βto cry out, to callβ) is also occasionally used. π·π°πΉππ°π½ (haitan, βto callβ), however, is never used this way.
