Etymology 1

First attested in the Worin cheon'gangjigok (月印千江之曲 / 월인천강지곡), 1449, as Middle Korean 가ᄉᆡ〮다〮 (Yale: kàsóy-tá). From Old Korean 改衣 (*KASoy).

  1. (intransitive) to disappear, to fade away (of a condition or state)
    두통 가셨다.

  2. (transitive) to cause a condition or state to fade; to overcome a condition or state
