- Gù gǔ yǒu cǎishī zhī guān, wángzhě suǒyǐ guān fēngsú, zhī déshī, zì kǎozhèng yě. [Pinyin]
- So in ancient days, there were officials whose charge was to collect folk songs, by means of which princes observed the customs of the folk, learned about their gains and losses, and reflected on themselves.
