Usage notes
[edit]Generally 國際學生/国际学生 (guójì xuéshēng) is used to refer to students of various nationalities, while 留學生/留学生 (liúxuéshēng) is used to refer to any student studying outside of their region of origin, including, for example, students from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan studying in mainland China.
