[edit]Pronounced *ou-sou ~ *ou-ʂou in 100 CE and a transcription of an Austronesian word; compare Proto-Austronesian *(w)asu (“dog”) (Sagart, 2008). Compare also Proto-Vietic *ʔa-cɔːʔ.
