Calque of Sanskrit सद्धर्म पुण्डरीक सूत्र (Saddharma Puṇḍarīka Sūtra).[1][2][3][4]

Equivalent to a compound of 妙法 (myōhō, teachings of the Buddha, literally wondrous law) +‎ 蓮華 (renge, lotus flower) +‎ (kyō, sutra).
