- Meiji jūroku-nen ni sensei wa shubi yoku Kagoshima Chūgaku ni nyūgaku shita ga, sono yokutoshi ni wa genpu ga igan menkan ni natta.
- In 1883, he successfully entered Kagoshima Junior High School, but the following year, his father was dismissed from his post at his request.
