Etymology 1

Inherited from Old Burmese က္လောက် (klok),[1] from Proto-Lolo-Burmese *k-lok ~ k-loŋ (stone), from Proto-Sino-Tibetan *r-lu(ŋ/k) (stone). Perhaps cognate with Old Chinese (OC *ŋoɡ, “jade”) (STEDT).
