Etymology

From Pali rājasampatti, from rāja (king) + sampatti (property; wealth); or from Sanskrit राजसम्पत्ति (rājasampatti), from राज (rāja, king) + सम्पत्ति (sampatti, property; wealth); equivalent to Thai ราช (râat-chá-) +‎ สมบัติ (sǒm-bàt). Cognate with Old Khmer rājasampatta; Modern Khmer រាជសម្បត្តិ (réachsâmbâttĕ).
