Etymology 1

    From Proto-Indo-European *ḱwes- (to pant, puff, sigh). Cognate with Old Norse hvæsa (to hiss), English wheeze, and Latin queror (to complain), whence English quarrel.[1]

    From Proto-Indo-Iranian *ćwás (morning, next morning); ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *ḱewH- (to shine). Cognate with Avestan 𐬯𐬏𐬭𐬆𐬨 (sūrəm, in the morning), Ossetian сӕумӕ (sæwmæ, in the morning), Khotanese [script needed] (svī, morning).[2] See also शोच् (śoc), शोध् (śodh), शोभ् (śobh).[3]
