[edit]Variant of صَبْر (ṣabr), صَبِر (ṣabir, “aloe”), also vocalized صِبْر (ṣibr) and صِبَر (ṣibar) in al-Andalus—compare for this formation the relation of شَجَر (šajar), شِجَر (šijar), شِجَار (šijār, “figs”); on their root pages either exposed as Aramaic borrowings.
