Borrowed from Ukrainian череви́к (čerevýk), from Old East Slavic черевикъ (čerevikŭ), from Proto-Slavic *červikъ (shoe), from *červo (whence Russian чре́во (črévo, belly, womb, inside, interior)). Doublet of череви́цы (čerevícy), inherited directly from East Slavic.
