Etymology

Inherited from Koine Greek σύννυμφος (súnnumphos), with addition of -άδα (-áda) ending akin to κουνιάδα (kouniáda).[1] By surface analysis, συν- (syn-) +‎ νύφ(η) (nýf(i)) +‎ -άδα (-áda).
