[edit]According to Petrounias[1] αν- (an-, α- privative) + έξοδο (éxodo, “expense”) + -ος (-os), different from the Hellenistic ἀνέξοδος (anéxodos, “without outlet”). According to Babiniotis,[2] from ἀνέξοδος (anéxodos), the modern sense being attested since 4th century.
