Etymology

Learnedly, from Ancient Greek ἀγνώμων (agnṓmōn, opinionless, lacking any judgement, hard-hearted,), from Ancient Greek ἀ- (a-, un-) (α- (a-) privative) + γνώμη (gnṓmē, opinion, counsel). Semantic loan from French ingrat. Also substantivised.[1]
